Loadshedding - answering your question PS! :P

PS: Further to your query on what the unique phenomenon of loadshedding is...my simple and honest response to which am hoping more naseebites with experience in this area will add salt and pepper! :P

Loadshedding is a phenomenon in India/Pakistan whereby us lesser mortals are subjected to long hours w/o electricity coz the Govt. has to conserve the same. Its a situation which in its real sense is extremely uncomfortable specially in the summers and evenings when they decide to keep us in darkness but in which the innovative people of the country (def in India; been told that is highly unthinkable in Pk) utilize the time to sit with neighbours (at least in small towns) and play antakshari (this mainly applicable during the nights) and generally bond with each other. During the day of course we just curse the Govt., our fate or simply resign to the heat of the day and go about our work like zombies...

Personal experiences of loadshedding can be shared offlist with ya! Hope you are enlightened enough and with this latest "issue" added to the list, not want to go back to konkanland for a few more years :P
