has added a new journalthe founder of this village commented to me last week that there's not much activity in this village besides potman's previous comment. COME ON FELLOW PUNJABIS! speak up! hmm, let's start a conversation....did anyone have relatives in islamabad that were affected by the huge quake? mine were ulhumdullillah spared, but a good friend of mine lost relatives in the apt building that collapsed. so sad. :(

i never thought of myself as punjabi v. anything else; simply pakistani, but after i moved to cali, i realized the hydros love to make the distinction, so i might as well make my claim to what most definitely is...better - the north. HA!who in this village can name the 5 rivers? i would imagine just Ahanif, and possibly potman. lol!

Yes ... this is a welcome honor to have a post by sairasheikh. You are right though. If we all had the spirit of Daler, or perhaps, Jazzy B, this village would have maximum activity.

has added a new journalah yes, many, many people wonder . . . 'vhat are the 5 rivers?' but the answer is not just what are the 5 rivers (the five rivers actually being the pind, the sind, the ghengis, the potomac and the caspian sea)---is that right Amjad?)---but when the pot thinks of them, he thinks the five rivers, aka 'punjabi way of life' represent more . . . a life of honor, of virtue, of ethics (as long as it doesn't hurt the pocketbook), of discipline (as long as discipline starts after 10 in the morning and 11:30 on weekends) and of jalabees. THe five rivers is more than just a history, it's a way of life. In the words of the infamous Dahler Mehndi---Na na na na na ray. na ray. na ray.
