in the mist of what youre expected to do, what you want to do, and what needs to be done, its easy o get stressed. unmotivated. apathetic. so to look to more constructive and positive ideas, what drives you?
what makes you push yourself? islam? your mom? money? love?

What drives me...My family is the driving force for me, I parents have done alot for me and have worked very hard to give us the best they could.
I never look at what others have accomplished, even though they may look at you and "size you up" by the type of car that you drive or the brand of clothes you wear. I find that the driving force for alot of people is what others have.
Islam should be my most important driving force but I find that my Iman is not at that level as yet, slowly but surely!

hi, well lets see! being a reverted Muslim by choice now( not just by birth) has to be Islam first: As it regulates my total behavior , so second would be ME. third would be the mom. Lastly the money!!! cant stand it but cant do without it!!! :)

has added a new journalFreeCycle.org is a great way to get Back2basics - nearly every community in the country and some elsewhere has a FreeCycle list where people give away stuff they no longer need for free instead of throwing them away or giving them to charities that would turn around and charge for them, etc. Getting a new sofa? Post your old one. New microwave? Ditto. Kids outgrow their clothes? Got some canned goods you're not going to eat soon? Too many stuffed animals? Buy the wrong part at the store and can't use it?

has added a new journalIn the last 6 years I have probably moved about 7 times. From San Diego, DC to NYC, Arizona - my most recent arrival I have noticed how much pull the city you live in will have over your approach on materialistic items and self worth. I also noticed as I get older, how much people cast down upon you if you don't drive a certain car, have a certain hand bag or rocking some designer shoes. I just recently left Scottsdale, AZ and moved about 30 miles south to a city called Chandler. Being here for about 2 weeks I have noticed the difference. In Scottsdale - if you did not have a BMW, BENZ or something that did not have the status label you were treated poorly. Handbags - another, aside from the 95% of them who rock the fake PUCCI and LUIS VUITTON that is another status symbol, idolized by those who just want to fit in. Now living in Chandler where none of this matters, I notice a difference within attitude and nature. How it is so pure and laid back - I was often stressed with the treatment and abundant lack of culture in Scottsdale. The 30,000 millionaires pretending they knew everything finally got to me - and I was lucky I had an opportunity to move away. What my point is have you noticed how much your city or living society can affect you when it comes to matters of materialistic worth? Why is it people are judged on how much they make as opposed to content of character? When did it matter that you rocked a 1500 bag and luxury car? Is that what the world is coming too...
