I used to watch reruns of Longstreet back in the early 80s...I was a big fan of the show, especially the episodes in which Bruce used to appear. I was just wondering if anyone remembers an amazing line from Bruce when he is training Mike Longstreet. Bruce tells Longstreet...something like: "Be like water, assume the shape of the container..." or something like that...I have heard variations of that line, but just wondering if anyone knows the exact words?

I just got the dvd of my favorite Bruce movie of all time...Game of Death! I can't wait to watch it...this will pleasantly round up the evenings entertainment... (H) P:

I heard somewhere that BL valued situps more than anything in his workouts. He even shelled out big bucks for the portable electric sit-up simulator that would hook electrodes to your abs and simulate sit-ups. (Not that expensive now, but back in ~1974 it was mucho dinero). Rumor has it that he had it hooked up almost half of every day.
I think he valued a powerful core more than anything, 'cause Jeet Kune Do philosophy is that all power flows from the abs or "gut." Since I follow JKD, I've taken up this stance as well, and it works for me. Has anybody else heard anything along these lines?

hi Kaniza, why do u oppose classical Karate?I think Bruce used 'classical Karate' as a collective term for any martial art that teaches strict sets and forms which has become solidified over the years. I used it as a reference from the essay he wrote for BlackBelt magazine.
Traditional Okinawan karate can be lethal.

Yea, those guys are pretty gifted, but they are more show than realand the book was just published a few months ago. so its fairly new. will have to read it sometime

and speaking of Fist of Fury, I came across this new book at a bookstore, "Kung Fu High School". after reading the synopsis, it sounded like fist of fury. i might pick it up eventually. thought i would share that info ;)
