well since ur doing masters, I advice u to squuze couple of management and fiancial related classes if u can.When I build abaseline schedule thats the most challenging part of my process because I have to understand every facet of the project (application of resources, bid items, cost per item, time frame, project constraints, submittals, i can go on and on). I love details, It requires alot of effeciency amd multi tasking and forecasting. So its different in design, and different from actual construction, its a management tool that comprehend the project design and address the construction sequence.
