i think thats great ur in law. we could use
more muslims working in different fields
besides engineering and medicine!

reason i went into medicine is i loved
the OR..i guess i fit right in with the cocky
bastard surgeons I worked with in my younth.

went to hopkins for undergrad thinking that I would go towards field of med or something similar...realized didn't have patience to stay in school for another 200 yrs, so I decided to go to Georgetown for law school. Been working for Homeland Security, and to certain extent, I am glad that I didn't choose the other field.

Salaam to all!

Thank you for joining. I am new to naseeb - and
saw there was no JHU village. Figured why not
start one.

Anyhow - my goal for this village was for current
students and alumni to connect - network - as far
as jobs, advice, etc etc.

I'll start by telling you guys a little about myself:

Dad from india, mom from pakistan. Born in india,
parents brought me here when I was 3 months old.
Lived in Miami for a bit - than moved to Cleveland
where I grew up. Must admit - nice place to grow up.
Was a slacker till I hit high school where I realized
I wasn't the athlete I thought i was :) so I started
to read. anyways, parents made me volunteer
at a hospital - turns out I was exactly the same
time of a** as the surgeons in the hospital. So,
went to hopkins - premed/biomed/public health.
Went to Case western for med school right afterwards
and matched in Orthopaedics last year. Finishing
up my intern year here in Detroit.

That about it :)

Again welcome to everyone - if I can share any
words of advice with the younger peeps etc
let me know.

Later.

Peace
Ishaq
