As a fellow Palestinian, I really don?t want to dwell on those days. Unfortunately, it is there and we cannot erase the fact that it happened. I feel that it is truly the fault of the people and not the governments, but maybe that is the American in me talking. The people control what happen. If this was really meant to happen, it would have happened. People would have revolted against governments, leaders would?ve resigned, and the righteous would?ve gotten what they deserve. Instead, we are scattered all over the world. Some of us fared better than others with the scattering. My self and family; alhamdullah, we have fared well. I?m the youngest of five, and the fourth one with a college degree. While other people are still in refugee camps.

I?m not really sure what I?m getting to here?.but I think I?m part of the few when I say that I hate fighting. I think there is always a peaceful way to get things done. I don?t like the Israelis bombing the hell out the poor people in Palestine, and I don?t like the people that live in Palestine to sacrifice shabab Palestine just to kill a few Israelis.

I guess the Nekseh reminds me of what is happening, and I don?t like it. Instead of dwelling on the past, being pissed off because we lost the war, and want to hurt everyone that got in our way?lets look ahead, try to create a peaceful world for the shabab of Palestine!
I know that I?m opening a can of worms on myself here, but that is my two cents on that, brothers and sisters! I hope I don?t offend anyone, and if I did, I?m apologizing from now.

Arabgirl It's dates like this and events like this that all of us need to remember. Personally, I can never forget any of this. My mom chose to name me Joullan (jeem wow lam alif noon) after the Golan Heights in Syria. I was born on June 5, and it was on that date in 1967 when the Israelis took the Golan Heights. So I'm reminded of our history whenever my real name is called.

i can't see what arab girl posted. but if she didn't say "our governments" then i'll say it. Our Governemnts are entirely and completely to blame.

Arabgirl that is so touching. Many in the Arab world are named after famous men and women but this is the first time I learn of someone named after an occupied land.

Anyhow always let hope take over despair as the future is ours for sure :)

actually bro we should have that naksah year engraved in the back of our heads, when I lived in syria, one of our professors was telling us that prior to 1967 most arabs thought they'd overthrow Israel in the sea by night if they wanted to, so 1967 should serve as a good wake up call to all Arabs, the population of world's jews are 13 million at max, the arabs are over 300 million, bass we are way more less organized and united, so who is it to blame our goverments or us?

Fadi, many wish not to remember but we have to learn, "not dwell on" from our past to build a better future. Although I wasn't born at that time I still managed to learn a lil about al-naksah the six day war
