A clear proof for AhleBayt infallibility
I was playing with TV channels which finally I stopped on Sudan national TV channel. It was after Maghreb Azan and the narrator was quoting a Hadith from Prophet Mohammad (SAAW). Against all odds he narrated a Hadith which I believed Ahle Sunnah wouldn't like to mention very much (We know Sudan is not a Shia country). Here is the Hadith:
"I am leaving behind among you two precious things (THAQALAYN), as long as you adhere to them you will never go astray after me. The book of Allah and my ITRAH my AHL AL-BAYT (my family). They will never separate till they come unto me near the pond (HAWD), so look how you are going to treat them after me"
Some important narrators:
Sahih Muslim
Sahih al – Tirmidhi
Musnad al Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal
Mustadrak al Hakim
Now here comes the conclusion:
Quran is fault free. It is a guide with no mistake. That's why Prophet has said in this Hadith that if we adhere to it we will never go astray after him. But he has conditioned that with adherence to Ahl Al-Bayt as well. This Hadith clearly, and let me reiterate it again and again, "CLEARLY", has concluded the infallibility of Ahle Al-Bayt and the obligation of each Muslim individual for following them.
Now if someone hears this Hadith from Prophet why on earth he should not follow Ali and his children as the true successors of the Prophet?
Why on earth he should follow Abu Bakir and other people though this Hadith and several similar ones are there but to be ignored?
I would like to put another question to my Ahle Tasannon brothers and sisters based on this Hadith:
Imagine you are in the time when the War of Jamal is about to break out. One side the troops of Ali Ibn Abitaleb (A.S.), where Hasan and Hussain (A.S.) also members of, and the other side the troops of Ayeshah. Which side you would take? Which party is right?
If you say both parties are right, that sounds ridiculous, how come they are in war then?
If you say both of them are wrong, again it sounds ridiculous, what you would make of numerous Hadith which prophet praised his family (such the one you just read)?
The only remaining possibility: one side is right and the other is not.
Can we say Ali plus Hasan plus Hussain (A.S) are wrong and Ayeshah is right???? Again what would you make of numerous Hadith which prophet praised specifically these three individuals?
Think, think again. Life is an opportunity given only once. Let's use it right by following the right path. The path which Ali and Ahle Bayt are there.

wasn't Qal originally just saying tryin to say that the debate is circular and yields no conclusion
and that we should live n let live with respect to shia/sunni beliefs?
i mean will we ever be able to "convince" each other of the others point of view? if there was just one clear right or wrong then how can so many pple believe one side or the other?

There is nothing wrong with us discussing our own religion and history. Secondly, its kind of silly that you should tell a muslim that he has as much truth as a christian, hindu, or jew. I mean, thats really cute and all but what's the point? Ok, so they have the truth. Are you telling the xtians to quit talking about that guy Jesus, or the Hindus to quit talking about that Vedas stuff?
And as far as your liking to "outside the box" or whatever that means, this forum is still for shia-sunni discussion, so conversations about how much we love purple socks would be kind of irrelavent.

The logic you are referring to is speculative philosophy. It has little reality with what we are speaking about, i.e. criticism based upon sources... Even the sufis of whom you are trying to relate this whole issue to, engaged in heavy critical discourse...
