lastly, (feeling rather prolific tonight or just disjointed in my thoughts): popular culture also gave us harry potter, star wars, bob marley, beatles, rolling stones, spice girls etc - enjoy it, celebrate it and dont take it too seriously. otherwise you'll take yourself too seriously and that is not good

popular culture isnt all bad - and the gallery is not as much about popular culture as about aesthetic appreciation (well that's my story and i'm sticking to it). in the way you'd admire a piece of art or something. sorry - side-tracked again. popular culture doesnt necessarily have to be inferior - a sort of reverse snobbery going on plato?
