A Great Time to be a Liverpool Fan
It doesn't matter that the tallest player in the league has managed only 1 goal, though he debates 2. Credit to him for a forty yard run and a screaer of a shot that the keeper only just managed to get a palm to.. {I'm sure that's Peter crouch's version of events).
Never mind that our joint top scorer is benched every game. Even I'd bench him for that sulky mug of his, never mind that though.
Who cares that we have the most consistent culprit of giving away possession to the opposition.
What we do have is Two Scousers, the heartbeat of the team... a uniform team that works hard and grinds results... more often playing football with exquisite touches, orchestrated by Gerrard's drive and Alonso's immense range of passes.
Arguably the best midfield in the land, a defence solid enough to hold off the mightiest of opponents, where the scouse spirit and passion Lives. Carragher was 'ere, he says.. John Terry eat your heart out.
A couple of Aimar's, a few Cassano's, a Joaquin, maybe a Gallas and a roving full back and we are all set to be formidable. Then we won't put fear in our opponents by virtue of the strength of unit... by then it'll be by fear of talent, strength, skill and speed. Sexy Football...
