A historical perspective of Dawah in Japan

Although the Islamic Dawah activity began in Japan the Edo period the clues about this activity was not well known. But the beginning of the 19 th century the collapse of the Russia, some immigrants of Turkish, Tatar nationality came to Japan. Before the second world war these communities organised very sophisticated to fullfil their needs of Islamic life. They established a Mosque in Tokyo Yoyogi uehara district and also an Islamic school for their children. And also before the second world war by the leadership of AbdurRashid Ibrahim (A Russian Tatar journalist)there was a quite strong Japanese Muslim convert society. The second phase of Japan's relations with the world of Islam can be recognized in the period after World War I and the 1917 (October) Revolution, when the Japanese authorities made use of previous contacts between Japanese Pan-Asianist figures and Muslims, in addition to new ones, to practice its Islam policy politically and militarily in a more systematic manner.
According to AbdurRashid:
As a Pan-Islamist, Ibrahim was concerned with the reform of contemporary Muslim culture to recapture the ideal Islam in a modernity compatible with Islamic values. Here, Ibrahim presented an ideal image of Japan as a model for Muslim reform that was even more "modern" than the Christian Romanovs and the Muslim Ottomans.
Also the economical and political change suddenly spread over the nation after the second world war. There were no clues and any written details about these well known convert muslims society. Unfortunately the forerunner muslim immigrants second and third generations also lost their precious values in these social disaster period soon.
From the point of Dawah all these political and sociological attempts in Japan did not make any achievement because of the insincere moves of the sides. The nature of politics mainly based on profit, gain and insincerity will not make an accordance with the purity, virtous and gratuitous service nature of Islamic Dawah.
And at the end all the well known mediatic pioneer muslim activists one by one sank into oblivion.
