I see your point, I dont want to kick out anybody. I would like to openly debate with liberals/progressives. I think we need to take a minute to define liberal/progressives. We are not talking about being liberal and progressive from a political standpoint. We are talkin about liberals and Progressives from the Islamic standpoint. Anyone who believes that Islam is not for all times, who thinks that the traditional Islam needs to be updated, furthermore the people that think the rightous scholars have misinterpetated the Quran and sunnah because it conflicts with their modern views. Liberals and Progressives are pretty much the modernist movement in Islam and they want to "adapt" to the Western culture. On the topic of freedom of speech. I think Islam has freedom of speech with in its boundries. Allah SWT has completed His religion and every Muslim must believe that it is complete. In being complete, it means that Allah has made things halal and haram, and He has also given us the example of the prophet (S). I dont think its allowed to support the free speech of someone who is supporting kuffar such as gay marraiges, alcohol, abortion, and etc. Other things like politics (Islamic Politics), anti abortion, anti war, and etc. These things are allowed. Why would a MUSLIM want to stand up for something that Allah has made haram? Does that person believe that Allah is wrong? We are only to worship Allah SWT and only support His ways. By supporting kuffar ideas, it necessitates the believing in kuffar ideas. Labels will always be a part of life. It has always been from the beginning of time. We had men and women, whites and blacks, believers and non believers, conservatives and liberals. If if you are on a quest to end labels, I highly doubt that will happen becuase in the end, Allah will will put us into to 2 groups, the believers and non believers. But if its your dream, than so be it, but it should be in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah, and you must ask yourself, would the profit advocate such support?
