Best Players: R.Baggio, Del Piero, Maldini, Figo
Underrated Players: Rui Costa, Montella, Cannavaro
Overrated Players: Ronaldo #: , Vieri, Trezeguet, Totti
(3-4 players each, and let's keep it within the last 10 years) :)

Beckham was hailed as a 'great player' when the only thing he could do was play with his right leg, and cross. He couldn't tackle, couldn't do anything with his left, wasn't the fastest (covering 13 miles a game doesn't mean anything when you're just running), etc etc.
Raul is overrated because he's a one trick pony, you can't expect him to do much other than score from within the box. That's not the definition of 'one of the best strikers in the past 10 years'.
My view, ofcourse.
Peter Crouch is the best Player!! EVER, PERIOD
i don't think raul's overrated at all!!
Underrated: Surprisingly, can't think of any at the moment, but there definitely are alot.
Overrated: Beckham, Totti, Raul, Rio Ferdinand among many others.
yeah i didn't bring up the ugly part, i just commented how the azzuri is goodlooking! never mentioned anything about 'ugly'.
ronaldinho is by far the ugliest player on earth, and i thought ronaldo was ugly until i saw ronaldinho - cos he's the ugliest of the whole brazilian team, and the brazilian team is pretty ugly.
disclaimer: uhm once again, ugliness doesn't have anything to do with their performance on field (whether or not they have hot women chasing them!), and i hugely acknowledge that!!! :) i loooove the game!!!

for every ugly player u name i can come up with 10 good looking italian players. as compared to any other team out there, yes the italian team is the most good looking one.
if you wanna talk ugly.......brazilian team - french team.
and no it doesn't matter what the player looks like as long as he plays well - it's just that you brought up ugly players, and so i'm just commenting on that.
Zidane, now considering you said over the last ten years, you name me a trophy that Zidane hasn't won. he's been consistently nominated for ballon dor, euro player of the year, domestic league... etc. over the past 10 years... the pundits say he's the MAN!
Del Piero is poo... I've been a juve fan for 15years, he started off as the young starlet.. ready to break into legendary status. He used to score loads.. now.. not so many.. i remember for Italy in the final against France... he could have single handedly won the tournament.. he flopped.. and was berrated for it.
His muscle growth was considered abnormal.. he grew incredibly strong over a short period.. so that was the basis of zdenek zemen's claims. it went to court.. it was a huge case..
So in any case Del Piero is not as consistent as when he began his career as a fledgling. He never reached the height expected of him, to be honest he failed to reach the heights.
Zidane is a playmaker.. he still makes play
Ronaldo is a goalscorer he still scores goals... and an abundance
Del Piero is a goalscorer/playmaker.. he does both adequately... not with the awe you'd expect of a legend. He never reached his expected legendary status.. i think thats gonna be the same with Cassano too...

ronaldo's out of shape! he's being replaced by robinho & co..........but noone can replace del piero.
plus zidane hasn't even played that much this season, he's admitted himself that he's not playing as he used to thats why he took a break a couple of weeks ago and didnt play for a while.
other than that:
top 5: FIGOOO, del piero, shevchenko, ibrahimivic, cambiasso, makele, carvalho, giraldinho (well ok they're not 5!)
overrated: robinho, ronaldo, rooney, adriano
underrated: rui costa
he scores a goal everytime he's on field - and if u remember baggio wasn't a regular on some of his clubs for a while - just happens that way! got nothing to do with whether they're still good or not - they're amazing - but with all the new young players coming on........
don't see ronaldo & zidane doing much - i mean, he's pretty overrated if u ask me - also, last time i checked real madrid weren't in top 5 of la liga -

del piero, Zemen said he was pumped with steroids for unnatural growth.. it's been pretty downhill from there... here's a 'legend' that isn't a regular for club let alone the azzuri.
He may be the best player of the worl since the begininning of soccer...
I like Pel? too he is great and from Brazil (the best country for footballers)

i have the biggest crush on zidane, and he'd have one on me too, except the sun was in his eyes in Portugal 2004, and he couldn't see me properly. I swear, he was squinting in my direction though.
