Let's work together to make a difference in the lives of the Iraqi and Palestinian ppl back in Iraq and Palestine. Any ideas? How about establishing a charitable organization? Here in the Bay Area there are many such organizations which collects tax deductible items and send them back to India and Pakistan why not back to the middle east?

Do you know of such organizations that might already exist? Can you recommend one?

thank you westcoast and Mamaghanoge. As to doing something locally within the community we have many events and programs such as open house, monthly dinner to introduce non Muslims to the religion, the community is also active in local and state politics and sponsor local candidates for mayor and other posts. What I'd like to see us do is try to find more ways to help the ppl back home

caarb guy they do exist...i will have to do more research...you also have to make sure they're not affliated with any "shady" organization.

what about doing something within your community for non arabs non muslims to spread the islamic word? to show them our compassion...any ideas? i've heard of soop kitchens etc here and i think that's a great idea that we could think about :)
