Advice needed from Married People

I'm getting married to a Pakistani girl. Congrats to myself!! Its an arranged marriage. The girl is neither too conservative nor too mod. However I'm worried to hell most of the time mainly because I dont know what to expect. Any advice from married people. I do not wish to make life miserable for either one of us.

Appreciate your advice. Honest. :)

Darik, there is nothing to worry about as long as your are sincere about the relationship and you really want it to work I am sure all will be fine. I am sure if you explain it to her you both can work out something where you can still spend time with your friends but most of all you should not make her feel left out. Do lots of things with her so that when you do go hang out with your friends she wont feel like bad. And I doubt very much that I can be any relative of hers. but that would be very funny. As far as her missing home and her family thats inevitable. You just have to make sure you do your part and try to understand her needs. Make her familiar with the area where your at and show her the things that will make her feel like she is at home. Meaning stores places, doing activities that she is familiar with etc. And I am sure all will be well.

Thanks Sherry429 for your insight. I cannot email you unless I go for premium membership. So I'm posting here. If you somehow happen to be her relative, I'll be too embarassed. You may send me at [email protected]. Its not my real name.

Another question is that how does one live all the time with each other. Initially it can be understood. Won't we be making each other mad. The way I had been living uptil now is that I visit friends not all the time but keeping a certain time between hangouts.

Secondly, I guess she would be leaving her home for the first time. So everyone's telling me to take care of her a lot.

I am really panicked if a situation comes that she feels alone, calls her parents home and I am railed for it. What am I getting myself into? Hehe. Getting worried most of the time.

Congrats to you! My best advice for you is try to be understanding, don't jump to conclusions and keep an open mind. And the 1 of the most important thing is keep a good line of communication between the two of you. Marriage is a give and take thing sometimes you may not want to do something but you have to cos you love the other person. There are many things that you will learn along the way but these are just a few things to start with Good luck to you both. If you need any advice please feel free to email me.
