Afghan Industrialization - True Independence?
Afghanistan....recently i went to the country and while construction is booming in the residential and commercial buildings sector, I saw a push towards industrialization. This is great, but while I saw advancements in this regard relating to Afghanistan's independence from the political hold of other nations....it's practical to realize that we are far from true independence. As a unified body of Afghans what mistakes must our new government, and ourselves, look out for in developing a sound and pragmatic growth strategy for our country?
Perhaps we can draw upon the lessons of pre-post industrialized nations and identify mistakes and problems that occured which we can avoid in our own nation. The business/political landscapes have altered, however basic economics still prevail and political strategies are at work which prevent us from truly receiving independence. It did not help to see afghans with the "what's in it for me" attitude in afghanistan....this attitude really impedes our progress, and stems from an archaic mentality which holds negative consequences; and the lessons must be taught to our fellow afghans.
What are your thoughts on the issue, let's discuss.
