After Love

Listening to Cher warbling... makes me wonder, have you ever been

hurt? slighted? overlooked?

how did you overcome it and did it turn out for the best in the end.

..... .~.~.~.~.~ Believe ~.~.~.~.~. .....
(singing instructions)

No matter how hard I try
You keep pushing me aside
And I can't break through
There's no talkin' to you
It's so sad that you're leavin'
It takes time to believe it
But after all is said and done
You're gonna be the lonely one...ohhh

*Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say,
I really don't think you're strong enough, no

What am I supposed to do,
Sit around and wait for you
Well I can't do that
And there's no turnin' back
I need time to move on
I need love to feel strong
'Cos I've had time to think it through
'N' maybe I'm too good for you, ohhh

(repeat *)

Well I know that I'll get through this
'Cos I know that I am strong
And, I don't need you anymore
I don't need you anymore
I don't need you anymore
No, I don't need you anymore

(repeat * x 2)

Grand Theft Aut0: San Andrease ... what a twisted virtual world that is ..

Mystic I prefer your treatment of hard liquor and a violent game of X-box. For my next heart-break, I'll stock up on Black Label and Grand Theft Auto. Thanx. :)

yeah time is the best cure. cliche, but true. it is always tempting to just distract oneself with someone new, or alcohol or x-box or something - but only actually hurting and really going through it will help you grow above it and inshaAllah, learn as well from it. As Socrates says, the point of life is knowledge and constant growth.

Yehband, what does your mommy have to do with all of this? :( Yeh, all you said in your last few comments makes me sigh and grudginly have to accept the reality of what you said about the pain of a break up

nah yehbandishain.. this one is not about me but my mates...

i believe in cutting and running, picking yourself up, brushing yourself off as you said.. i am all about self preservation ;)

and i agree we can learn a lot about our own capacity for loving and giving.. despite relationships coming to an end

Yes Labs, but grass is always greener on the other side as the saying goes so from that perspective, it would certainly be nice to experience it.

soph, it's sometimes better to be a babe in the woods than a scarred/ scared deer in the woods

You guys, I feel like a babe-in-the-woods compared all of you who have loved and have been loved. I am still waiting for my love and insh'allah am hopeful that it exists for me. Mega: Beautiful words and great poetry. Red: Very well said. Staj: I don't think that a person should ever be depressed enough to commit suicide in love; that is just not healthy. I'm glad you moved on and insh'allah you'll find your Prince Charming, just hang tight. Begsy: Time and Islam are the great healers...this is very true indeed whether applied to love or other emotions. Irfani: Whenever I have received gifts from gentlemen in the past, I never kept them around; reminders are never good when you want to move forward to meet the right person, the one who is destined for you, the one you are bound to spend your life with. Yehband: The first line of your 2nd paragraph is key in relationships where things are not working out. Sahadat: Are you serious that you're writing a book or is it just a joke?

Begs- Smithereens were a decent music group back in the 80's. I agree with you. I keep nothing sentimental, it would make me mental. Wow, I think I'm a poet. Did I tell you I'm writing a book?
