Agnostic?
I wonder what opinions are here about Atheism and Agnostism in this village, given Nietzche's nihilism it's at least argubly valid that he was an athiest or at least agnoistic what does this village think of it.
he was an atheist........i believe it's in the gay science where he basically says that agnostics have no nerve. i don't know if he was a nihilist. he just simply didn't believe that values could be derived from a god with the advent and logic of enlightenment thought. the same goes for science. he wanted to root values in life itself, and eternal return became a way for him to do that.
First of all, I'd like to start off by saying that I am amazed that there is actually a Nietzche group in a Muslim orientated web site.
In any event, not only was Nietzche a stark opponent of Christianity he would have been even at greater opposite towards Islaam. Given that Nietzsche propagated a belief that there are "Uberman" and that there are others who are basically followers. This in essence is extremely in contrast with Islam's message of brotherhood and everyone being equal in the eyes of God (except for the more pious who are greater).
Nietzsche if exposed to Islaam, would have been a harsh critic, however since he lived in Europe and came frequently was more at odds with Christianity. This can be known by a variety of his works including "Thus spoke Zarathusthra" from the title alone we can see how he tried to establish a theoritical rival to the revered Jesus of Europe at the time.
