Veloct, bro don't make me laugh. You know if you had saved that time that you used to write stupid posts, you could've actually worked in that time, and earn little more, and give away in Sadaqah. Let's think. half an hr per day you spend putting down ppl (i am only concerned about naseeb, not your real life). so that becomes 182.5 hrs...that's $1300+ in a year (with minimum wage) wasted, down the drain wow, talk about us wasting $60 an year to keep a good muslim networking site functioning properly. *pfhttt*.

jazakAllah AIM. I am on this site and I pay for it because it's a good muslim networking site. Because of this site, I've met many muslims who've inspired me one way or another. I've learned a great deal about Islam. I've also come to see some real concerns out there that i wasn't aware of. I've been engaged in countless debates that have not only increased my knowledge, but have also made me a better person. So, I don't regret paying for it. Why should I?

I think these some of these might help clear up some misconceptions as our duty as Muslims:

From the Quran:

The Noble Qur'an 3:104

Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Isl?m), enjoining Al-Ma'r?f (i.e. Isl?mic Monotheism and all that Isl?m orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Isl?m has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful.

The Noble Qur'an 3:110

You are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'r?f (i.e. Isl?mic Monotheism and all that Isl?m has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Isl?m has forbidden), and you believe in All?h. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-F?siq?n (disobedient to All?h - and rebellious against All?h's Command).

The Noble Qur'an - Al-Tauba 9:71
The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practise regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise.


The Noble Qur'an 9:112

(The believers whose lives All?h has purchased are) those who repent to All?h (from polytheism and hypocrisy, etc.), who worship Him, who praise Him, who fast (or go out in All?h's Cause), who bow down (in prayer), who prostrate themselves (in prayer), who enjoin (people) for Al-Ma'r?f (i.e. Isl?mic Monotheism and all what Isl?m has ordained) and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds and all that Isl?m has forbidden), and who observe the limits set by All?h (do all that All?h has ordained and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which All?h has forbidden). And give glad tidings to the believers.

The Noble Qur'an Al-Maa'idah 5:78-80

78. Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Daw?d (David) and 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). That was because they disobeyed (All?h and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds.

79. They used not to forbid one another from the Munkar (wrong, evil?doing, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.) which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do.

80. You see many of them taking the disbelievers as their Auliy?' (protectors and helpers). Evil indeed is that which their ownselves have sent forward before them, for that (reason) All?h's Wrath fell upon them and in torment they will abide.

From the Hadiths:

Hadith - Muslim

On the authority of Abu Sa`id (radhiallahu `anhu) that the Prophet sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam said, "Whoever sees something evil should change it with his hand. If he cannot, then with his tongue; and if he cannot do even that, then in his heart. That is the weakest degree of faith."

Hadith - Muslim

He also relates on the authority of Ibn Mas`ud that the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said, "There was not a single Prophet among those who were sent before me who did not have apostles and companions and followed his Sunna and obeyed his commands. But afterwards other generations came whose words belied their deeds, and whose deeds were not in accordance with what they commanded others to do. Whoever struggles against the with his hand is a believer. Whoever struggles against them with his tongue is a believer. And whoever struggles against them with his heart is a believer. But when none of these things are done, then not a single mustard's seed weight of faith is present."


Hadith - Bukhari and Muslim

Zaynab (radhiallahu `anha), the wife of the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said, "The Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) once awoke, and his face was dark, as he said three times, 'There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah! Woe betide the Arabs, because of an evil which will soon come! Today, the barrier of Juj and Ma`juj has been breached by so much,' and he made a circle with his thumb and forefinger." And Zaynab remarked, "I said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Even when the righteous still dwell amongst us?' and he said, 'Yes, when khubth (moral degradation) becomes widespread.'"


Malik ibn Dinar once recited the verse, There were in the city nine men who caused corruption in the earth, and would not cause reform, and said, "Nowadays, there are people in every clan and district who cause corruption in the earth, and do not cause reform."

He also said, "We have become accustomed to loving the world, so that we do not enjoin good or forbid evil to one another. Allah the Most High will certainly not permit us to continue doing this, but would that I knew what kind of punishment shall befall us!"

`Umar ibn `Abdul `Aziz said, "It used to be that Allah the Most High does not punish the common people for the sins of the elite; but when the evil is done openly, and they do not repudiate it, they all become deserving of His punishment."


Hadith - Sahih Al-Bukhari 8.50, Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah
The Prophet said, "Enjoining all that is good is a Sadaqa."

Hadith - Ahmed, graded authentic by Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami' (1/398)
The Prophet (saaws) said: If the people see an evil and they do not change it, soon Allah will inflict them all with His Punishment.
