Al mawto bel belaad wa tarbiyaat al Awlaad :)

Ok here is a double topic for u guys as u can tell from my title:)

Would u want to be burried be belaadikoum(your hometown) or fe belad al 3aam saam(where ever u are in the west)? for me I'd want to be burried in my town Burqa in Palestine next to my grandpa Allah yer7amo.

Another question are u in favor of beating your kids as a way of disciplining them? as for me I am totally against it!

wait, why a fruit tree? Like ya said it your body is decomposing and it really doesn't matter where? And I guess if the situation calls for a little smack, then that is okay..but prefer not to unless it's necessary..it all depends.

wait! i changed my mind, bury me under the nearest fruit tree... preferably a peach tree, but if there isn't one nearby any fruit tree will do. i think i would like that.

bury me where i fall. i doubt it would matter to me at that point. i see no reason to waste my families time and money to put my body in one plot of dirt versus a second. no matter what happens after death, i'm pretty sure where my body decomposes will be the farthest thing from my mind. i'll smak my kids when the smaking is called for, and won't when it isn't, like Goerge Bush, i refuse to take options off the table.
positive reinforcement will only work if you are consistent and can consistently reward their good deeds quickly enough that they associate the reward with an action, and if you have no means of punishing bad actions, then teh reward from stealign from the cookie jar, or beating down the neighbor to take his trycylce, is reward enough. i can't see mona's post so i'm just going off FaF said abuot it. punishment is as important as reward. and until kids are smart enough to understand abstract concepts disipline and consistency in disipline is all you got. ___________________________________ _______________________- and child psychology is relevant if it deals with children in the same cultural settings that the studies where done in. this goes for any psychology, not just child. there are lots of similarities between cultures, but there are lots of differences as well

hmm..about getting burried...i don't think i mind where....but definitely not in favor of beating my kids, there are so many other ways to discipline your kids and sometimes it's better not to beat your kids...but that's my opinion :)

Don't care for the first, the latter...a little 'ta2deeb' physically won't harm, just a little. Always refer to Islamic books on such issues for guidance.

I totally agree Mona3, you can always use positive re-enforcement with your child, child psychology is what all parents should learn b4 having babies it is such a big amanah they carry on top of their shoulders

I'm against physical punishment for exactly the following reason (it's quoted from a textbook about child psychology): "Although the immediate effect may be to suppress aggression, physical punishment also serves as a model, vividly demonstrating that physical force 'works' as a means of controlling others." Someone who spanks their child "is saying, in effect, 'you were right. the best way to get people to do what you want, or to stop them from doing what you don't want, is to hit them hard enough.'" There are much better and much more effective ways to teach children proper behavior, and physical punishment is not a good way at all, in my opinion. I also think every parent should take a class in child psychology. It's amazing the things you learn.
