the other village actually started out very similar to this one with open discussion and some type of understanding. Then it went to hell in a handbasket in a hurry when everything went out of control and the mudslinging began. That's when the moderator of that village decided to strengthen the one side and changed the title of that village.

Just FYI, when it started, it used to be something about discussion between sunni and shia and was not against any single group. And hence this village was created in hopes of recreating what started off as a good thing in the other one.

Sorry about the history lesson, but it was just a bit of a replay of how events unfolded to reach this point.

I agree with the extremism on both the sides.

However, I see more attacks from one said than the other. To prove my point, simple compare the title of Sunni_Shia and Shia_sunni villages. One of them is derogatory to shia.

With all do respect to some of the bias around here, just so you know Asim, there is extremism on both sides of the fence. So pointing a finger at one specific group as you see here does not constitute them to be the only bad group.

about the hatred part, in all honesty, I think it may be taken out of context. I don't particularly hate an individual as much as I hate their actions and behaviour when they curse or put down our Prophet s.aw.., his family, wives and companions....let alone trying to say somethign bad about Allah s.w.t. (astaghfirulla)

It is only when God revealed that a people will no longer accept, was their a change in dynamic how certain people were dealt with in Islam during the time of Rasools.

Al Waraa wal Baraa is something that happens EXCLUSIVELY during the time of Rasools. This period is marked by what is called in the Quranic terminology HIJRAH. The hijrah makes the town a Prophet has left subject to DESTRUCTION.

The HIJRAH happens by revelation ALONE, and it is the dinstinguishing period between the people of truth and falsehood. When Lut, Musa, and other Rasools were commanded to migrate at a particular point, God subject the twon to destruction. When Yunus (AS) left the town before revelation came, under the idea that his people would not accept the religion, he was put into the belly of the whale. When his people saw the punishment coming, they repented before it was too late, and God saved the town. When Muhammad (S) migrated, this marked the end of the leaders of Quraysh. All seventy of the leaders were slain on the Day ALlah calls the FURQAN.

The fundamental problem is that most people confuse a kaffir with a NON-MUSLIM. A kaffir is one whom knowingly rejects the truth, and this state cannot even be known by a Prophet, as is well testified to in the situation of Yunus (AS).

As far as the sunni perspective, Yes we hate the Kuffar, we dont hate them for their flesh in most cases, only for their beliefs. ANY beliefs that contradict what Allah wills shoudl be hated by a Muslim. It does not mean that we can not talk to them or so forth, but we hate their Ideas. Also the Quran says do not take the Kuffar as yoru Awliyah, or close friends. The only people who we hate for their flesh are the Tyrants and people who curse Allah and the Prophet (S), and so forth.

For all you who bicker saying that we only take from the Quran, we also take from the Sunnah of Rasulullah (S). It is in the Quran that Rasulullah's sunnah is equivelant to the Quran. "Athi Ullaha wa Athi Ur Rasool" Obey Allah and Obey HIS MESSENGER. So it is valid to derive a conclusion from the Sunnah. We Also have surah kafiroon which directly shows how we will never agree with them, nor compramise with them.

the funny part is they are the followers of someone who said hasbuna kitab allah(allahs book is enough) why they are referring to hadith now, that also fabricated by abu huraira

Thank you for your comments. I did a little research on this and found out that this philosophy has been taken from some Hadith and not directly from Quran.
The whole issue in my view is that some of these Hadith come from not so credible resources. I have yet to find the source for this one... but it seems to contradicts the true message of Islam. However, Juvayriah is bent over practicing this based on Hadith, even thought it contradits the true message of Quran.

Realise that these people you are debating with are extremists. They have lost grasp on reality, and as illogical as an argument is they will stick to it. For example the person you were debating with, and this is not meant as back biting, please tell her I said this so it is not behind her back, won't even accept that cetain hadith are in the sunni books. I quoted some hadith directly from bukhari and muslim and she said they don't exist and shia fabricated them!

You should realize that as much you tolertate and even like people outside your belief, some people will always be violently hostile towards you, mainly wahabis/ahlus sunnah wal jamal, etc. Thats just their style. Theyve been blowing themselves up killing Shias for generations now, but recetly theyve even started killing regular Sunnis li,e at the Nishtar Park viladat bombing.

Well then, since when was liking Muawiayah a sanctioned part of Islam?? Is it in the Quran? Neither did "sayidna" Ali, Hasan, or Husayn like Muwiyah or his son Yazid. So I guess Juvayriah doesnt like them either. I guess she views them as 'kuffar' or at the very least misguided. In essense, she views the Prophet Muhammad as a Kafir too, since he claims that "I am from Ali and Ali is from Me" and "I am from Husayn and Husayn is from me". So therefore, shes one of the enemies of the Prophet. And you know what the Zulfiqar did to those folks!

And those particular people that Juvayriah hates in her heart, Ail/Fatima/Hasan/Husayn, whatever religion those guys follow and whichever creed they are, thats what I am!
