it was fun to be at the food fest yest. it alwayz reminds me of horse n cattle show in lhr n afterwards exhibition wid small vendors and fire works to end the day. anywayz....u guys shud check it out, wud have fun i em sure.
wonderful idea. got back to MN. might come down to cities this weekend to have a flavor of all that greesy food though. my fav wud always be corn on the cob....reminds me of hamara lhr n punjab.
When capitol complex used to host Taste of Minneasota we used to go there in lunch hour (just for walk ;) as food really was all greesy)
And if I remember correctly Khyber Pass don't serve halal food (for those who care). A small bakery/restaurant/grocery store Crescent Moon Bakery has good afghani food (all halal). They are at Central and 24th in Minneapolis. Also Da Afghan on American Blvd (80th street) in Bloomington has ok food and better seating arrangement than any other desi (halal) restaurant, they don't have halal beef and on 80th street again, Tandoor serves halal chicken.
khyber pass has closed its doors? they moved from st clair to grand ave sometime ago... but were open as recent as a couple months back, if memory serves me correctly.
Taste of MN! You are a brave man Anwar. I encourage you to go, really. It's fun to watch all these really strange looking MNans eat greasy food and sit around in their less than normal looking clothing. I'll forewarn you not to go on the 4th of July. You won't make it home before 3am b/c of traffic.
I actually know the owner of Khyber Pass. Great guy. But the restaurant closed a while back. Not enough business.
sorry anwar..kinda unrelated but i heard today that there is an excellent restaurant in St paul called Khyber Pass.
I myself cant wait to go to minnesota and try it out, they sell awsome
afgan kababs according to my gora prof.
