Great ideas, Peacetwou, masha'allah.

I teach high school and don't have young ones of my own yet so I am sorry I can't be of much help for lessons for two year olds. :)

lol, i believe it is. when I taught english as a second language, i used this game to help the children memorize the words and their spelling. for the older students i used words and phrases but for my younger students i used pictures.

lol- if "picture swat" is the same game I'm thinking of,... I played that in my high school German class all the way up until 12th grade.. except we called it "the fly swatter game" and it was with vocabulary words/phrases instead of pictures.

I'm glad to be of service :) And these ideas have been very useful to me and my sisters, who are also teachers. Picture Swat, has always been a favorite of my students from kindergarten to (can you believe it) to primary school kids.

Do keep me posted, I would love to know how it works out for you:)

Peace

I so envy you :) I love that age range.

How many kids are in your class?

Outdoor:

play animal games. Teach the movements of different animals then let the children decide or you can decide which movement the kids can have then have an animal race.

follow the leader also teaches animal movements and for extra fun you can add sound effects. You can also bring one student up with you to be the leader.

I'm assuming you are in an enclosed area for their outdoor play, so how about creating a jungle and play find the jungle animals. If you have plastic toys, hide them and let the children seek them. The winner can be king (or queen) of the jungle.

Small group:

Children like to color, so you can put them in small groups and give them different jungle animals to color. It's more fun if they can choose their favorite animal.

Animal mask. Let the children color their favorite animals. If you think it's appropiate for your class, you can also let them help make their mask. Later for a group activity you can have an animal mask ball find songs that sing about animals for kids to dance to.

Big group:

Songs Children love songs, especially if they have movements to go with them. It also helps them remember what ever subject you are teaching.

You can also use this time to teach your target subject, jungle animals. You can do this by using large pictures or stuffed animals. After teaching target vocabulary, you can reinforce it with games like, . In this game, children must hit or touch the picture you dictate. For example, you say "elephant" the children must find and hit/touch the elephant.

Guess the animalin this game you can let the children do the guessing or, my students personal favorite, the teacher does the guessing and the children must say yes or no.

Circle time:

Is always good for story-time. For very young children, it's best to use big books with very large pictures. After the story, you can ask them questions.

Free choice:

Puzzles
Picture books
Playdough
Coloring
Blocks or Toys (jungle animals)

Good luck :)

Peace
