I considered a prop mgr. but why pay someone 8% of your rental income to basically do nothing. do the research..it's not hard. make sure u interview your renters throughly..take security deposits, make sure your property has insurance, appliance warranties..and you should be good to go. I never rent to desi people..rule of thumb. i had an open house and 35 people showed up, but i guess it's also location and quality of place..

Thanks for sharing that. do you have a property manager that takes care of the rent and maintenance, etc. or do you do that on your own. how hard is it to get people to rent the place? any issues with renters? I've only heard some scary stories for people renting their property in Pakistan - I'm hoping gora renters are better.

I currently have a condo in northern va rented out to a young couple. Its five yrs old, 2 bed 2 bath, gated community w/ private parking..good investment property especially in dc metro area. I will most likely sell it, take the equity out and buy a house for myself once I get married (whenever ms.right comes along :)
