Anyone have a Porsche 911??


I am buying one in the next two months- used for around 30k. basically i want to know if anyone here has had good/bad experience w/ porsche maintenance. any help is appreciated.

the car is built very solid. i know guys who work on them at home. The only issue is when they do go bad, you better have a credit card or cash on reserve.

the strongest and best built porsche is the 993.

i wouldnt buy a 996..

Yeah that's just the shift linkage and they're usually held on by one bolt. That was most likely a one off problem...

Very solid car. I've never owned one but i raced a GT3 a few years ago and we didn't encounter any problems whatsoever. Just get a good mechanic to check it out and ask him to do a compression/leak down test on it.

do you have a porsche?

ive heard bout the rms and in hte porsche forums they say that it is not as bad as engine replacement. im really looking for first hand experience. taht would be ideal....well ideal would be having 80k to get a new one.

the best thing would be to go to a porsche forum, thats what i did when i was goin to get my boxter, theres alot of stuff u can find out from there

RMS is a major culprit, look into that. It never goes away unless engine is replaced.
