anyone like Shahed Barmada as much as i do?


Shahed Barmada, for those of you who've never heard of her, was one of the last 2 contestants remaining in Superstar. BUT she lost to the Saudi guy named Ibrahim. Her voice is amazing mashaAllah. She is also from Aleppo, Syria... woot woot!
ANYWAYS, just wondering what y'all think.

thanks for the info maya... hmm...maybe we should get it going again. I have a bunch of syrian friends who have been wanting to get active on the syrian front. I think it would be cool! And there is a model arab league?? Is there a link to this thing?? This is awesome!

Basel, the Syrian American Society of the Bay Area, Cali USED to exist, but not anymore, lol there has been no Syrian activity going on in the area, and it looks like thats the case all over.
I did, however, hear the Syrian Ambassador (Imad Moustapha) speak at the World Affairs Council in San Francisco in December, which was really cool. And I was also involved in the Model Arab League of the West Coast representin Syria, which was awesome.
Other than that, nada enchilada!

Issam, I think you should take "Get Into the Act level 1" (which is for acting) and "Improv Foundations" for improv. I suggest taking both!

reian, improv classes are offered by all types of people. I think they are mostly done by comedy troupes.

Issam, you should definately do an improv class. Why don't you send me the link to the classes' list and I can recommend one for you :)

naffouri man ur a smart dude...I heared about those classes but no body encouraged me to do it..there are lots of different kind of workshops..what kinds you recommend?..game ones?...ones thats good for acting..etc...:D

haha nooarah, I started doing improv a while back (about 6 months ago). It's a ton of fun! I love it! you guys should seriously consider taking classes! Not only that it's fun, it's a really good personal development tool. It teaches you to be positive, approachable, spontaneous, risk taking, and fun!

How is the Irvine Improv troupe? Is it good?

Basel, you didn't tell us about your Improv classes! How are they? Every Tuesday the Irvine Improv gives us (College Students) free admission to watch their shows. Doug Benson is there this week and not that long ago one of the Wayans brother was there.

Basel, to make the bits into a picture, yesterday my family and I were at a restuarant and as we were leaving, I saw Mona's cousin and Mona, and we exchanged Hellos and hugs and then I had to leave because my parents were waiting.

mona, not too much. I am doing some improv classes these days, which are a ton of fun. Did I tell you guys about it??

My dad was like MEEEN HADOOL EL BANAT? I looked at my mom like telling her I don't want to tell him how I know them, and I told him that you guys were girls I met at the Mahrajan. Because I did see Tanya at the Mahrajan but I guess she didn't know who I was at the time.

But I told my mom that you guys are girls off Naseeb and shes like HOW COOL! Didn't you feel weird meeting them? I was like it was kinda weird bumping into them at the restuarant, but IT WAS MY FIRST NASEEB MEET-UP that wasn't even planned! It was really cool. You guys are sooo coool

Most definately, we will do something soon insha'allah. My sister said that she saw both of you guys at the Masjid in Ramadan.

LOL, It was the best random Naseeby thing. I know I was asking your sister not knowing she is not even 18 yet :) It was so funny but not strange at all, everyone there is on-line of some sort. If I tell my mom how I meet my friends it will take me for ever to explain it to her, don't ask.

Samira is a friend, I sometimes go the Masjed by you guys, isnahAllah one Friday we can meet there all together or if there is an event coming up.
