Arabic for English Speaking Student

I want to learn arabic and know the basics. I came across - The Arabic Course for English-Speaking Students : Originally Devised and Taught at Madinah Islamic University (3 volume complete set).

If anyone has used it, how did you like it? And does it come with a cd or tape?

JAK,

Tahira

Assalam alaikum

I have been using this particular book recently, and can highly recommend it. It is set out very clearly and logically. There is also a website recently started to accompany this www.madinaharabic.com

You will need to know the arabic alphabet and how to read arabic reasonably well if using this book. If you dont, then the website accompanying this book, has an arabic alphabet and reading course which is also very good.

Hope this helps you.

I did put links for those here before, sis, but never really browsed through them. i have to, since i'm more likely to end up with a non-Arab wife, and she must be taught Arabic WELL!!!

i doubt, though, that those will be enough to make her or you or anyone else..speak like i see those many american and russian people speak on aljazeera when interviewed by it!! they are impressive!!!! wow!!! but i think they were taught in syria or jordan or egypt, not online or on audio casettes :(
