Are Muslims Overreacting or Just Duped?
By now you should all know what have those inappropriate cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad PBOH triggered?
I personally called the producer and anchor of a well known show on CNBC (both of whom I personally know) and specified to them the following:
?It is important to specify in your show to your guests that the cartoons not ONLY depicted the prophet Mohammad (PBOH), but have ALSO depicted him as a terrorist. One cartoon even depicted the prophet wearing a turban shaped as a bomb with a burning fuse.
The fury was not only raised by the simple drawings of the Prophet, but also the portrayal of a Biblical Prophet as a Terrorist.
It's essential to distinguish among the TWO KINDS of depictions to give some sense of the offense to Muslims.?
They both agreed and later modified the description without rubbing it in further.
Do you think we?re overreacting?
Are the protests justified?
What of the Jordanian newspaper editor who decided to print the cartoons because he wanted to show to the public what the fusss was all about?
