Are Redd and Allen worth it???

As you all have probably heard by now, Michael Redd and Ray Allen have both agreed in principle to max deals. Redd's is in the range of over $90 million over 6 years, whereas Allens is $80 million over 5 years. I personally don't think Redd is worth the max, and the cavs woulda been dumb to give him that, but Allen is worth it (compared to other players). thoughts???

They both are over paid. They don't have rings

The Bucks found themselves in an interesting predicament. Sign Micheal Redd or lose him for no compensation to the Cavaliers. Redd would have been the ultimate compliment to Lebron moreso then Ray Allen being that he is several years younger. His ability to stretch the defense with his picturesque shooting would allow Lebron to wreck havoc in the lane which is a scary thought considering that Lebron does just that today without a secondary scorer at his disposal. The question though is Red worth the max to the Bucks? No, not by any stretch of the imagination. He is as many people have posted on here, a slightly better version of Allan Houston who is more recognition for his $100 million dollar deal then his sweet jumper.

No Shooting Guard (despite the all time greats) is worth max dollars. Case in point, Michael Finley and Allan Houston who are both about to be cut from their respective teams so that owners can save money based on the new CBA. They were once scoring and putting up stats like Allen and Redd - look at them now. At least with Redd, he is 3 years younger than Allen. Simmons is clearly a player on the rise and he plays excellent defense and can board well for a guy who is 6'6" - i dont like taking a chance on a one yr player but thats what the NBA is about taking chances on potential.

the bucks should be pretty solid this year; T.J. Ford said he'd be in the starting lineup opening night. No doubt Shiraz Redd is a hell of a player, but he's not worth $90. he's primarily a shooter; i'd say a bit better than Rip - points - hardly any rebounds and even fewer assists. simmons is a player. he never really got touches his first three seasons in the league, and even last year, he made the most of his touches by shooting around 47%. plus, he was a pretty good college player as well - but played with Q Rich in college who got most of the attention...

i dont think many of us have seen redd play enough to determine how good he is. he has played solid, with scoring and assists going up each of the last 5 years. also, he was pretty good in the all star game. he's very similar to allen, and if mil can all stay healthy, they might make a playoff run.

cleveland desperately needs a shooter, so hughes is a good fit. But I don't think he's worth $65 mill over 5 years though. Way to much money.

i guess everyone agrees...what about hughes? i think the wizards made a huge mistake not re-signing him. but i don't see how he'll fit in cleveland...and is he worth $65 million over 5-years?

Aleen Is worth it, I was surprised by his growth as a team leader!! He was just a pretty boy in Milw. But he talks much more, and challenge others in his team or in the leauge, while still shooting from everywhere. M Redd, is overpaid just because he does not create for his teammates as much as Allen

Bucks are overpayin michael redd, i think ray allen was worth it because that team made it to the playoffs last year under his leadership, while redd lead his team to the first pick in the draft so yea redd was overpayed, the bucks should of let him go or done a sign and trade deal
