Are you getting all the fiber from your food?

Health and Diet:
Are you getting all the fiber from your food? Today, milling techniques grind down whole grains, removing the bran, germ, fiber and many other essential nutrients. eDiets recommends the best sources of fiber, such as whole fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans and peas. Choose foods closest to their natural state -- unrefined and unpeeled.

Fitness:
There are plenty of ways to avoid discomfort and injury. Choose activities you enjoy. Ease into cardio gradually. Start off with a 5-minute warm-up. Finish with a 5-minute cool-down. Treat your feet to a new pair of kicks.

Health and Diet:
Tired of the same old sandwich? Try a bagel. They aren't just for breakfast anymore. They come in all types of flavors and can increase your grain intake. They are great for sandwiches or you can top them with a little marinara sauce and cheese for a mock pizza. Bagels come in all sizes, so be mindful of portions.

Fitness:
Ever notice that your back pain is much worse when you're stressed? Many people unconsciously tighten their back muscles when they are tense. Stretching and strengthening exercises keep the muscles strong, keep your body flexible and reduce your risk of lower back problems.

Health and Diet:
True or false: The calcium content of low-fat dairy products is equal to regular, fat dairy products? True! They both have the same amount of calcium, but the fat content is different. To cut down on the fat and not the calcium, choose 1 percent or fat free milk (or other low-fat dairy foods). Calcium is crucial for healthy bones and to ward off the effects of osteoporosis. Both men and women are susceptible.

Fitness:
Here are some tips for fitting stretching into an overstuffed schedule. If you don't have time to sufficiently warm up before stretching, try doing a few stretches immediately after a shower or while soaking in a hot tub. The hot water elevates muscle temperature enough to make them more pliable and receptive to stretching.
