If you choose to make dua without mentioning any names, that's your choice. But in my opinion, if an imam, out of emotion, wishes an oppressor to be stopped, you are in no position to say he is committing a sin in that dua. Wallahu a3lam.

the Farrow's wife made dua for God to save her from her husband...Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala took him away after that. In all honesty, I couldnt imagine how else it would be meant....she wasnt going to be taken to the other side of the earth to be saved from the most powerful man in the region.

Sayyidna No7 (in surat No7) says la tazid athalimeena illa dalala...he started making prayers for them to go down when he knew tit was useless and they wouldnt listen.

My point is, you are not doing anything wrong by making only constructive duas towards helping our people improve and smarten up and Allah yihdeena....everyone makes those duas, but for the ones that pray for Allah to take away an oppressor, I dont see and will never see anything wrong with that.

and by the way, the nonsense I am referring to (since you cant seem to add up things on your own without twisting everything in your favour) is that comment about "forcing" God to listen to a dua. god is the one who orders and we are the oens who obey, so that comment is completely out of line and irrational. When a muslim feels they are oppressed and ask God for freedom, its doing exactly what He ordered us to do, which is turn to him and ask him for help.

About arafat or any such leaders...the Prophet s.a.w. said we have to follow our leaders and cant try to overcome them by rebellion in his hadith. But in all honesty, I will not question my sheikh when he makes all the good duas for all muslims and when someone like sharon or bush is destroying our people by the mases, the sheikh says may God strike them down to stop the insanity (if you think that's hypocritical, then you need your head checked).

When muslims used to be levelheaded, a woman would get (NOT raped) by dishonored by her shirt torn by some non muslim in another country, and the khalifa warned to let the woman come back with an appology or an army from the muslim country all the way to the non muslim one would be on the doorstep (see the seera if you really care to instead of only using your "mighty levelheadedness")

You wont know better than the sahaba , and you definitely wont know beter than your Prophet s.a.w. If you have a better explanation for that hadith Mr.Scholar please offer your ingeniousness, I am more than happy to listen to something better than the nonsense you already offered.
