Arranging Marriage


I know that it is fine for one person to propose to another face to face regardless of sex, but would it be 'appropriate' for a girl to ask her parents to arrange a marriage to a boy rather than waiting for the boy's parents to do the arranging?

This does not affect me (since I am not a women), but a friend of mine.

Wildchild....why would it be desperate for a women to propose to a man?
I think we should get out of this thinking, that things work in this Fixed way and ONLY this way. its like thinking with a tunnel vision.
Things in our life can happen in so many ways, everyone has different life's and styles and ways.
Doesn't mean its wrong.
I think its romantic that a women would propose, its a chance she is taking. Nothing wrong with Risk taking, or doing things differently.

yea why dont girls propose? i think it was the singer Pink who proposed to her boyfriend ..

girls proposing would be cool..imagine them going "down" on one knee...lol !!!

i think most paki parents would find it desperate sounding, especially if the girl is young. i find it odd that her parents have never discussed marriage options with her...maybe the girl is a really independent type and the parents are afraid of suggesting someone (?)

Good afternoon dudes and dudettes..so nice to see I am being missed!..I thought I would trick you all into thinking I had disappeared so you will miss me like crazy...Yep as you quite rightly guessed, I have just returned from Hell and left Docali there..The last thing I remember was Docali being pushed into the fires!..happy everyone?
