Asking Canadians -- War Poll

Currently Canada's commitment signed by the Liberals for Afghanistan is till Feb '07 - Currently we are there on a so-called 'NATO mission' under the command of the USA 'Enduring Freedom' should we stay longer than Feb '07? as all the MP's suggested in the Take Note Debate? Yes | No | Comment

thanks for the link Andreea -- i look forward to going through it --
although i think that the entire process of peace making i believe is also flawed --
i mean who is Karzai really? the history that is represented of him on the CBC Afghan page leaves out lots of details about him and his previous employer UNICAL --
and the fact that 'development' is another code word for PIPELINE -- what our government is doing is nothing short of war mongering ... and sucking up to Emperor Bush II -- and our Military is not interested in destroying the Poppy fields or giving those farmers incentives to stop --
think what you may about the Taliban - when they were there opium production was the lowest it has been - i am not condoning the Taliban - just making a point about the so-called 'war on drugs' and 'war on terror'

Sorry to jump in here late--simple answer- N O. Attached is a recent Globe& Mail ed titled "Ignatieff's Beliefs"....basically asking if he thinks the U.S needs to "assist" with a regime change in Iran.

what did you think of the 'take note debate' - i think it showed an example of the hatred of democracy chomsky talks about..

unfortunatley thats really true andrea-- about how Afghans see us still as invaders rather than peacemakers. NDP is dissapointing but i was going with them because of the whole 'lesser of two evils' theory. Liberals werent improving and Harper singling out gay and lesbians--well i just feel like whos next? if hes gonna single out that community who will it be next?

the reason I was feelin the NDP was becasue they had the most to say about social conditions ...mainly our growing poverty rate--child poverty and they had the most concern for the environment.

last i heard Ignatieff is ok with Afghanistan -- do tell about his retraction please - i am interested to know...
and please what's your opinion about the poll in the thread

my simple answer is that i want the soliders back---one death effects so many....but i feel like they are doing good in helping Afganistan get some structure.

so my answer is maybe
