Okay I'll grudgingly agree that I can see why YOU guys might find this movie "somewhat" appealing....

chipkalees: There are other adaptations. More specifically is the 1980's BBC presentation of this classic novel. Done in a miniseries format...good stuff
Perasian: Reading the book is ALWAYS better then watching the movie. Don't you think?
The Harry Potter series is one of the "pioneers" of this phenomenon. I totally agree with you what Harry Potter is for kids nowadays is what Narnia was for us...sigh those were the goods days. Even motivating these same kids to get back into reading which was sadly lacking. Remember we've just witnessed the Power Rangers generation that just passed. sigh.

I loved Narnia. I went twice!!!! I am going to marry Islan when I grow up.

I havent read the book (yet) but definately enjoyed the movie. In any case, when one watches a movie first or reads the book first, they are most likely to enjoy their first medium better (either book or movie whichever came first). I guess that has always been the case.

the chronicles of narnia, for my generation, had almost the same fame as the harry potter books do now...so for me it was kinda neat to see someone finally make a movie out of it...

actually the movie was okay. i still prefer the book, read it as a child and it was my favourite, no movie will ever come close to the book. ever! but thats always the case. i prefer the harry potter books to the movies. hands down each time :)
