I think they will find another planet after that one and the total might increase even more. And why all planets have to fit one description and one size? they can be different classes of planets depending on the size, distance from their star, composition and possibility of supporting life.

A planet has various meanings to different scientists. For instance, some take it to be an object that has a mass between that of Pluto and the Deuterium-burning Threshold and that forms in orbit around an object that can generate energy by nuclear reactions.

The definition of a planet is that it has an orbit around a star right?

Cedna being the 10th planet is still a controversial subject. If scientists declare it as one, then Varuna will have to be called the 11th planet. There will be far too many discussions about the nature of a planet itself and the number of planets in our galaxy will keep on increasg infinitely...whether or not they will consider the possibility of having a 10th planet in our solar system is still doubtful
