August 14th-celebrating Pakistan's Independance Day at Afghan Kabob House
...as I heard is a pakistani Independence Day. Are there any celebrations around NYC? If not, do you guys want to have your own "naseeb style" celebration?
Or, simply saying, do you want a russian chick to organize some type of get together...lilke Independence Day Dinner or something? :D (she'll be glad to, btw).

UPDATE:
We're meeting at Bahar Afghan Kabon House at 7PM for dinner and sweets to celebrate the Independence of the country south of Afghanistan that is currently ran by some guy named Musharraf (I am really trying to be gori, don't you see) :).
The famous weird gori will be there. Please respond here or to [email protected]

Belly dancer get to horus around 9ish....but we're meeting around 7:30...just confirming :)
Think of it as a Midweek meltdown event. I got work the next day too which is another reason that it is scheduled at 7:30 rather than 10.

Seedingchaos, I might have passed you once or twice, you werent the one doing bhangra right in front of the stage were you???? And only 3 pics.....but there awesome. They are oozing culture!!! I love it!! Cant wait to go back to NWFP and have a good ol' chapli kebab and naan straight out of the tandoor, yummy yummy.

I was at the mela too ONLYAAP and I concur with what you said about it. I was taking pics but there wasn't that much of interest to capture, I only got to upload three images form the mela so far... Anyways, there are two more parades that I can use my camera at, looking forward to those...
