Baby Scrapbooks
I want to create a scrapbook for someone having a baby...does anyone have any suggestions?
You can buy scrap pages made for baby showers and glue them on to the scrap boards or glue on heavy construction paper. You can also use baby wrapping paper for backgrounds and glue buttons, ribbons, plastic safety pins for decorations. Each page can be for a particular first event, like first hair cut/bath/tooth, etc. or they can hold all the cards given at the shower. There are lots of little trinkets and stickers you can get from arts/crafts store, just keep it simple.
I just finished my first scrapbook, which was for my husband's Father's Day gift. When I first decided that's what I wanted to do, I had no idea where to start.
I would suggest (as it's what I did) that you go to your local Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby and pick up one of those kits that allows you to make like 6 or 7 complete pages and COPY (yes, i said COPY) one or two of the layouts that it gives as an example.
THEN you'll have had your hands into the materials enough to see what works and what doesn't, and also, you might be surprised at how much creativity will suddenly flow through your mind!
Please feel free to ask any other questions as you work, as I'd be happy to help as much as I can, and would even be willing to scan and email you pictures of my pages, for you to see as examples.
One thing to keep in mind: EVERYONE'S STYLE IS DIFFERENT. So, don't get discouraged if your finished product doesn't look like the package or the examples, or another book you saw somewhere. Be content that it is your style and that there's a lot of hard work and caring dumped into a scrapbook and THAT is the gift you are giving your expectant friend. :)
