Being UnthankFul & Ungrateful

I am new to this history channel thing but looks like in UK, many of Ameriakan policies and unnecessary invasions are not very well appreciated.

But if you look not far enough, just 1939, the world war II, that was started between Germans and English Army, without Amerikan help, I guess GREAT BRITAIN would just be another part of Germany.

Go back to 1911, the world war I. Same story and same opponents. Brits and Germans. Then again US to the rescue.

Go little further back and it was those damm yanks who kicked the British army out of Amerika and had the first peace treaty with native Indians and had the feast of natives and pilgrims, the thanksgiving, which marks the occasion of the defeat of British army. However that occasion is celebrated in UK as the bank holiday.

Go little further, there was a time when sun never sets in the empire of the king or queen of England. The had their colonial system all over the world.

So my question is , is it me only or British people are really so unthankful to Amerikans who were the Saviour of not only their country but also their freedom in world war II.???

haha guys (H) chill.... we won this battle easily in the brit vs. yankee JE :P and this JE is won too. basit (who has mysteriously dissapeared after writing this je) has been replied to each of his points in this JE, his premise was ripped into peices :P

then Zz (H) came with his purpose to defend americas history, he was shown the way back to his little san diego (awesome city i agree) but the point is, these americans cant hold their own :D

Ooo as for cities the americans want from us,,,lets see:

Bath (try and find an american city of this much history, architecture, hmm).

York .......unebelieveable
Durham...

Ofcourse Oxford and Cambridge....(no not education wise, i mean architecture wise)

now, i dont think america has any of that? you guys are too much of a new country.

Here's a great example of an oxymoron - Fox News. The US 'news' media is the joke of the world - the BBC finds it hilarious and see it a cash cow where good Brit journalists go to retire and relax. I was watching CNN the other day and it looked so much like Brass Eye is was scary!

no basit, 'People in the world knows more about America then Americans themselves. Thats the biggest proof of envy-ism.' is untrue

that's simply proof of american ignorance; my american cousins complain that whenever anything happens in pak or europe (or beyond the states), they have no way of knowing about it as their local and national news is biased towards US events.. how insular can you get when people are celebrating/ suffering all over the globe, and all you care about is your own neighborhood ?

Erm, Begsy, we are trying to prove to the Americans that we have something they want. Now youve just burst that illusionary bubble I placed around Milton Keynes (chosen moslt because you cant find much informationabout the city on line so they would have to rely on what info we drip feed them). Sigh, will have to return to the drawing board and find myself another city. :-

things were differnt back then, you cant apply that situation here, since then a lot has happened, the world has changes and the situating in vietnam and cuba and the lack of UN help in Bosnia and former Yougoslavia, iraq, and countless other stuff, even the formation of israil. I'm sorry but I cant really be greatful for any of that!

I just checked up on "milton keynes"...theres hardly any info on it .. it seems to be some small well maintained borough in the middle of nowhere....there are 100's of such suburbs, small cities in the US..

Our answer to San Diego (which I happend to like btw) is of course Milton Keynes. In fact, our answer to every Amercian city is Milton Keynes. A short visit and you will appreciate the wonders of town planning - something which you guys seem to lack on your side of the pond. :P
