Bellydancing Beatz Anyone?

Salaamz peepz. I'm new to this village, and, unfortunately, I don't know much about Arabic music. What I do know is that I lovvve it. I steal my friends' cds, and so I have no idea what or who I'm listening to. But, my passion lies in bellydancing, (I hope to teach it in my basement/studio soon) and so naturally I'm a huuuge fan of tabla beats, especially mixed with beautiful, sensual, romantic voice, flute, and that other instrument that live singers play that looks like an accordion but sounds wayyy better.

Any tips?

snakessss.. thanks for the info. sounds rite up my alley.what's the name of the cd?
lol @ ali319. i can just imagine that sight. btw, plz share names of these booty-shake evoking cds.
angeline: c, thats what i do. but i dont have the patience nor time anymore to sift thru loads of downloaded tunes in search of the good stuff, let alone the money to buy compilation albums, which are usually lame. i do like bellydance superstars (think it's volume 1), tho. the first (my fave classic bellydancing song) and 3rd tracks (a very sensual, romantic, song that makes u feel like floating on a cloud with the movements of ur hands and arms that just take on a life of their own, mesmerized by the soulful voice and melody) are my personal faves. i'd luv to find out what the singer's name is.

I love it too! I have some bellydance CDs that I pop in when I workout. I find myself bellydancing when i'm done...it's a great workout...and improves my dancing skills....which I really need as I a whiteboy. ;)

Ok... so I once actually bought one of those belly-dancing CD's you know the type which is stocked at Virgin with a woman dressed like she is ready to dance and be all sensual....ok so then I heard it--it was all instumentatal and was actually quite good. One of my Arab friends also listened to it and said basically the CD had taken all the old, arabic instrumental classics suited for bellydancing..so maybe that is worth a $14 go--?
