Beware of the false sheikhs

Beware of the false sufi sheikhs out there. There are wolves amongst the sheep. These wolves are sometimes not even recognised by other respected sufi sheikhs.

Yoda said it best when he said "The dark side clouds the Force". There is a lesson even in this. The Jedi couldnt even recognise the Sith in their midst.

Listen to your gut.. listen to your instinct and be watchful.

Things to watch out for:

1) The sheikh or the sufi order suggesting you distance yourself from family and friends and stick with those only within your sufi order. Watch for isolation tactics.. they will want to isolate you from the outside so you have nowhere to turn to.

2) A false Sheikh will realise who on the outside you are most closest to and try and break this relationship

3) A false Sheikh will want you to give up all control of your life and hand that control over to him. You will be expected to ask permission from the Sheikh when you plan on going away on a trip, when you are buying a house, etc etc. When you dont do this you will be given a guilt trip and will be told you are breaking the ettiquette of the mureed-sheikh relationship. You will be told that by not asking permission you are acting on your own ego and the purpose of the sufi path is to destroy the ego. Please be careful.. shaitan is very deceptive with his words!

4) Expect to hear the story of Hazrat Musa and Khizr. Khizr does many things that Hazrat Musa questions because they just dont seem right to him but then Khizr explain to Musa the reasoning behind his strange actions which seem to be very destructive. Now if Hazrat Musa could question Khizr then Im sure you are bloody well within your rights to question a Sufi Sheikh.

5) Beware of the Albayli-Yousufi branch of the Chishti Order. I was a part of them and left after there tactics didnt work on me but I have seen many who joined before and after me who have changed for the worse because of this particular order and sheikh.

Gone are the Philosophers stones
that turned iron hearts into precious gold.

The iron has blackened and become rusted?
Only the sweat of your own work can be trusted.

Clean and polish it remembering the One
This heart will reflect the colour of the Sun.
