I agree we do need to earn our parents duaa's. They only want the best for us all the time. I do have to also say however that not everyone carries the same type of relationships with their parents, and often its difficult because if the foundation, which is your parents, are weak then how can you build a sturdy home based on that foundation.

I have this problem. Our family Dynamics is really Screwey, I love both my Mother and my father Very much, but I also have a very unhealthy relationship with my father.

So often my mood is negative and I take for granted the positive things he dose for me, But He also takes for granted the little things I try to do for him.

But I know in my heart threw it all there prayers are always for my sis and I to be happy and healthy.

I agree with you. Being very obedient to you parents is one of the most important things in life. You will be surprised how much of a role it plays in your life. I am glad you have wonderful parents and they have raised you well. Far most important thing is that you listen and absorbed what your parents have thought you.

I will tell you all something about the prayers that you might know. If Allah forbid someone is disobient to his/her parents then the dua or prayer they make does not go above them more than 6 inches. Interesting fact, isn't it. Looking at my parents and the effort they made in raising me up, I am so thankful to Allah for blessing me with such nice parents. This sort of thing has earned a lot of respect in my eyes and due to which I am being very careful in dealing with my parents.

"I believe that by being the best person we can be to others is one way that we can earn everything that we receive from God, our parents, family and friends. Meaning, we should always treat others with the respect that we would like bestowed upon us as well. We know that God is watching everything that we do, and we should always try and be the best we can. Our parents are kind hearted individuals that will always give us even what they do not have just to see us happy, so their prayers will always be there for us. I believe it is the way God intended it to be. We can all try harder to do things for them but in general if they see that we are doing the right thing, they will be most content and continue to send us their prayers, love and good wishes."
