Bloodshed and Tears

Revolutions and wars happen.

They happen all the time.

They are born of ideals, but they are fed with blood.

To hope for a revolution is the same as to hope for a war, to hope for death, torture, blood, orphans, widows, destroyed bodies, minds and lives.

War is a neccesary part of our world. But it is never good.

Even a just war, lead by just rulers and good people, will result in unspeakable horror, injustice, increadible death and destruction.

Freedom has a value, Ideals, Dreams and Hopes lead many to march out to change the world, but in death you have nothing.

In the end, most revolutions end up corrupting their ideals, and the revolutionaries learn what their predecessors learned. Power is not given up easily. And with power you have enemies who seek to take you power. And now, the freedom fighters that left their homes as young men and women, become what they fought against, imprisoning detractors, torturing opponents, rigging elections and oppressing the very people they had taken up arms, and where prepared to sacrifice their lives for.

The Ironic circle of life.

There are always reasons to take up arms, and to take to the streets, to raise a fist, swing a sword, take up arms and demand change. Utopian ideals are invalueble, they give hope and encourage dreams of better things to come, but in reality, every soldier who dies, and every revolutionary who falls, will never return.

His dreams are over, her dreams are gone.

The physical act of deliberatly taking a life will alone corrupt any utopian dreams of justice.

But still people will fight, they will take up arms, and go into the night, often, never to return.

It is necessary. Unquestionably necessary. But to ignore the cost, and to idealize war, war for any reason, is, in itself a crime against humanityk, and a crime against any just God you care to believe in.

Revolutions are not good, but they are necesary.

Injustice must be corrected, oppression must be stoped, abuse, subjugation, corruption and exploitation should never be tolerated. But know what it means, and know what means are being used to achieve the uncertain end.

Constant talk, and a desire to take up arms to "fight the good fight" regardless of which side you are on, is a childhood dream, similar to a desire to be a cowboy or a pirate. And we know what the cowboys and pirates really did.

Revolutions and wars are not a blessing in action, they are curses to be weathered. When God told Abraham to sacrifice his child, Abraham was not overjoyed, but he knew what he must do.
Revolutions and wars, even for just causes, have no reason to be idealized. Those brave few who actually take up arms may be heros, rebels, or sociopaths, they do a necesary proceedure. They carry out the military surgey to remove a social tumor. To topple an unjust ruler is a noble endeavor, to crush an oppresive government is a divine calling. To take up arms for justice, is sunnah. But revolution should be understood for what it is, and imperfect tool, and jagged saw when you need a scalpel. The doctors may be good people, or may be insane ones, but the surgery is not to be idealized.

Revolution is not a joy, not a trip to a Disney reinactment of the American civil war.

It is necessary to be willing to take up arms, and necessary to know when it is time to fight.
But those who call for war of any sort must know the cost.

It is orphans and widows, and crippled bodies, it is living people who will become dust. The burried man will not return. The mother will never again hold her child, and the child wil not live to make mistakes, to take up arms for his own cause.

In the end, all war, even revolutionary war, is solely, Bloodshed and tears
