Books of Poetry

Anyone read any decent poetry lately? I just finished "Howl" by Allen Ginsburg. It is a very intense read and laden with great imagery. I also just re-read "Residence on Earth" by Pablo Neruda. Please share everyone!

Sabila, I have several books by Neruda, including "Ode to Common Things". Some of his works I even have in Spanish. If you are a spanish speaker I highly recommend it. Some of them are quite hot! Thanks for the tip on the compilation. Ill definitely check it out.

If you enjoyed Neruda's "Residence on Earth," check out his other books of poetry. He wrote well over 30 books of poetry in his lifetime. They range from ODES TO COMMON THINGS (which include odes to a table, a chair, a sock, flowers---he brilliantly brings out the beauty of banal everyday objects that we don't stop to thing about) to his gorgeous love sonnets. You may want to pick up a copy of THE POETRY OF PABLO NERUDA, which is a compilation of over 600 poems, that FS& G pubbed a couple of years ago. It's simply brilliant.
