Bottle-nosed whale in the Thames

It was so exciting to hear on Friday that a whale had somehow swam upstream into the River Thames!

Obviously, I never understood the implications of this at the time.

After a failed rescue attempt to take the the whale to deeper water, the whale died at the weekend... How sad.

It was reported to have been a male adolescent whale, 18 foot long and weighing about 7 tonnes... Incredible.

Before this had happened I'd only heard of Bottle-nosed dolphins, had no idea there were Bottle-nosed whales too... It's astounding how many creatures there are, in the sky, on the ground, under the ground and in the ocean too. This has just served to remind me of that fact. WOW. SubhanAllah.

It was really sad that the whale died. She was too exhausted and weak after her ordeal and the poor creature must have been confused.

It's really sad when animals suffer. -:-

You have to admire the rescue team though as they wanted to really do the best for her.

You should see the Narwhal Whales. It has a single horn that sticks out of its head. It look like a what a Unicorn horse would have if they existed. Check out what they look like.
