Boyz vs Gals on Weddings
Generally I find that when you chat to single guys about weddings, a lot of them don't wanna keep it really small and simple... and not spend money on weddings..
Most girls dream of a wedding where they can look like a princess that day, a beautiful hall, stunning photos, fantastic food and wanna be sure all guests are treated well...
Whats the consensus of the guys and girls here?

i think small is best.. except for the fact you have to invite the whole town (apparently) to the walima.. to announce the marriage.. maybe in asian terms a small wedding can only be achieved by combining functions, rather than having the customary 12..
This is because each invited individual/couple bring their whole family and this has been the case for such a long time that if we were to now restrict the invitations to two people it will be interpreted as uninviting.
So we can have big weddings but can never have anything really extravagant unless we bankrupt ourselves.
Why do i have to speak to her?

Choti tomar ki matha kaarap, oyi Chadha bati dekla tomaki akdom sesh kore felbe bahi! LOL P:
funnily enough, i told my lil sis this who is already planning her big day and she frowned upon me and told my mum who is not happy either... i thought its supposed to be my day??
if i had the means then i'd like to share my joyful day with all those who are special to me.... and you know us desis... even if we try to keep it to a minimum, its still generally bigger than most 'white' weddings.
however, i dont have and probably wont have the means to have it like that and cos i dont want to offend anyone, i'd just keep it to family... i've probably offended loads by saying this!
I know BIG weddings are a Hassle cause The Bigger it is the more to think about and stress over. But being Desi with HUGE families its hard to avoid. And Big weddings tend to take away the whole intimacy of the moment.
I like things Simple, and Intimate, and Elegant. I like the idea of sharing each moment of my "Never Gonna Happen in a Life Time" wedding to with each of my guest, family and friends. The fact that everyone shared a piece of moment, a part in the wedding and I was able to approach each family and friend with my husband and share some time that day....thats Gorgeous.
