UC has a point too........it really depends on the individual, thats what i think, although it is easier to find a retarded, "i'd rather be a nun than marry him"-type guy.....than a really great, caring, attentive sweetheart, like my Baldie Sammichs!! LOL I really need to make a groupie village for both my baldies!

I don't think men or women can really be blamed. Instead, people should treat others better than they would wanted to be treated. The world would be a better place. The trick is to get people to be less selfish.

I guess i agree with UC too, to some point, there is more pda nowadays but that's just the way society has progressed. At the same time though, i do think men are not as respectful as they used to be, or chivalrous. Did women bring that on themselves with wanting to be treated equal, maybe...we can't have everything..ladies!

UC: You have a point. True...no one is going to sing praises about your uncle's or grandfather's shortcomings and yeah, even in my community I have noticed couples in our generation where the men are much more understanding and devoted. Hmmm well I suppose at the end of the day, it's all about perception. However, it is still difficult to find a "good" man these days.

Bleeech and Aamer, you guys should marry and reproduce immediately, hopefully have some boys and create more exceptions! I really have no desire to have a girl with the way the world is today!

Generally, I do agree with that. Maybe its the pace of life but men today lack patience (which is truly a virtue today more than ever before) and hence, are snappier and perhaps even ruder (if I may venture that far). It is a rarity to find a decent man who is old-gold, so to speak.

I must (respectfully) totally disagree with the journal intro. The elderly of today have 40 years on the current batch of men to convey stories of experiences through the years that are indeed wonderful, but we've not been around long enough or with anyone enough to compete with such.

We salute the elder generation and hope to be worthy of their fine example when we're telling stories in our rocking chairs.

I have personally noticed, that as many women don't expect a fairy tale / bollywood style romance, anything that smells of such is laughed off / not taken seriously. So, it's a function of the women having become cynical and non-receptive, IMHO.

That being said, some of the best stories us men have to share, cannot be shared, out of loyalty and keeping confidences...until perhaps we too are 80.

But some of us are exceptions.
