ye, but dont you all think something like this site is a bit extreme www.xmarevolution.com
and speaking of Fist of Fury, I came across this new book at a bookstore, "Kung Fu High School". after reading the synopsis, it sounded like fist of fury. i might pick it up eventually. thought i would share that info ;)
I forgot which movie it was, but he was in a locker room kicking the cr*p out of a bunch of guys, and somebody grabbed his arms at the wrists from behind. BL did a standing forward flip so his heels rocked the guy on his chin. Wicked stuff.
I too like the more realistic abilities. But teams like the Extreme Martial Arts where you have ppl mixing gymnastics with kicks, I dont like. Its pretty to look at it, but thats it. Its not realistic. But then again, there alot more martial artists now bc of EMA.
Killa:
I guess Hero is going to be on the list i will get you for xmas. :) but i can see where your going. You like realism, and not fantasy or myths. So, I'm guessing you didnt like it when the monks were flying in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The reason why they have them flying is that back in the days, locals used to think of monks as mystical, and had super human powers. thats why they fly like that.

I was thinking along the same lines as well. But I wasnt sure if the color schemes had anything to do with the culture. So I asked one of my chinese friends, and told me what the color schemes mean. Just to let you know, there was no correlation ;)
Hmm, I have to agree with Zngulam - I likd Hero. I don't know what happened to your subtitles, Kaniza, maybe a defective DVD disc.
I like films like Hero and Crouching Tiger because they have artful depictions that convey very insightful and important lessons.
In Hero, I took from it the lesson that what we believe to be right and wrong can often be a matter of perception. We base our views on information we have at the time, but we need to understand that we may not have all the pieces of the puzzle. People jump to conclusions without keeping an open mind and are surprised to find that once they stop and figure things out, what appeared right no longer is, and what appeared to be wrong is actually for the greater good, and sacrifices have to be made to that end. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I thought it was great.
Well, Jet Li is getting old. But I still like him. In that list of 20 most memorable ma movies..or something like that list, he was in some of those movies.
oh no you didnt...saying hero was crap. im gonna have to start calling you krazy again :)
And you know what the sad part is Killa, it was just erected. DAMN HOOLIGANS!!! I guess it was their way of saying, hey, we beat up BL. If only they knew they would be disinegrated by his blow.

i agree now. that's why i wrote "hmmm...now that i think about it, just about everybody"
Well, we are just starting to see TJ. we have no idea what he is capable of. He might follow Lee in his footsteps, or make his own legacy.
BTW, I just read Jet Li is not going to make MA movies anymore, and he going to concentrate more on drama movies..... :(
You think thats what they were thinking? );
Um, yeah.
hmmm...now that i think about it, just about everybody.
