at the end of the day you have to love what you're doing regardless of the money i think

actually, sammie, a plumber may make more than you and i do!!! (money wise, that is), and he gets to choose his customers, unlike teachers, you get the kids and that's that! and he is self employed...meaning he can just turn off his phone and take the next trip to Hawaii!!!! :)tempting, eh?

your right, sorry princess, NOT!. I love kids but i feel that maybe if you put yourself within their teaching level (teaching them basic things) than you yourself will not be challenging yourself to grow to a higher level. I would not mind teaching but i am really ambitious and i would feel trapped in the room :(

excuse me Sammie, but teaching is not repeatative! when u have a new bunch of kids every year it's like 20 gold mines to discover all over again every year! everyday is new and unique even if you've been teaching for quite some time. besides, there is space to grow in the education field, too. i mean if u are the kind who is ambitious, then, you can become a supervisor, and then a principal, and in the states you can reach superintendancy! i think sitting behind the desk in an office is what is actually boring!

well ali, i don't actually get bored because i'd be waiting for them! it's great not to have to wake up every day at 6:30, get dressed and go to work till 2:30, with minimal breaks (40 mins during that work day)! and besides, i always have stuff planned for my vacations, like to sleep, and go out more and other stuff...now,the summer vacation tends to be different because it's longer, but just when i start feeling a little bored, school starts all over again in september! so...i guess teaching is great when it comes to vacations and to work schedules, but the pay...i wouldn't say so!! and sammie, more and more males are going into the teaching profession today, especially preschool and KGs! i think you'd be very cute teaching those little ones!!! what is it you do anyhow, sammie?

Hey guys,a job as teacher is not easy at all and I think they deserve every single day in that long vacation.

Lily: don't you get bored of all these vacations? I really feel bad for you.

haha, good stuff, i would say i like the teachers vacations, they basically work 1/2 the year!

Wow! If I could combine the dentist salary with the teacher's vacations, it would be GREAT.

Thanks a lot guys and gals, you are truly wonderful. When I wrote that JE (yesterday) I was tired and did not sleep more than 4 hours/night the whole week. I decided I am taking a week vacation in July and won't work overtime this week (I'll try to).
