Has anyone tried or know anyone who has built their own LCD projector? Two of my coworkers are in the process of doing so. The price is said to range between $200 and $400 for parts.

That's why I'm waiting for feedback from my coworkers. The specs they're using supposedly work well with resolution and quality, but we'll see. Check out the forum (project gallery link) on this site for pictures of their projector's output. Some people have posted comparisions with an entry level commercial projector. www.lumenlab.com
