On a scale of 1-10? 4, reaching a 6 by the end.
I should explain. I do a lot of traveling to various MSAs, Conventions, Picnics- Muslim gatherings in general. And I have this internal rating system of how cliquey vs. open they are. How well they treat strangers, etc. One of the reasons for my balloon animals is to draw people out of their shells, make people a little less insecure. I just felt like people weren't willing to break out of their shells, the vibe felt a bit stifling with what I saw as insecurity, or an unwillingness to begin new relationships, or go out beyond their comfort level. It's understandable, because our whole society is like that. It's considered weird to go and speak to some stranger... I tried :)
In all fairness, I did meet a few wonderful people and hope they keep in touch :)
